Distributing drinking water, purifying sewage, recovering and processing waste... this is certainly
one sector that hasn’t been hit by the crisis! A pioneer in France and an international leader in the field, Suez Environnement
is nothing if not extremely dynamic.
This is demonstrated by the fact that the group is constantly on the lookout for new recruits, particularly among young professionals.
But what’s the best way to attract them to this field?
Why, with a new recruitment campaign, of course; one that is targeted, catchy and full of
promises.
The Suez Environnement brief
With this in mind, the Human Resources Department approached 148 with a view to modernising its visuals aimed at young workers. Featuring in a variety of mainstream press publications and student directories, they needed to instinctively appeal whilst at the same time conveying one simple message: your future is here! At the same time, Suez Environnement also wanted to produce a small booklet outlining the group’s key figures and the various opportunities it could offer young people

The search for a new employer image
For the recruitment campaign: Placing the emphasis on effectiveness. Gone was the overly generic metaphor of the old visual, featuring a man in a suit carrying a little net and running after a butterfly. The aim now was to personify and illustrate in practical terms what future employees could do for the environment.
Driven by this success, the agency also came up with another version of this visual, this time set in the middle of the desert, the aim being to illustrate the group's global impact.
A striking and informative leaflet
When it came to producing the leaflet the emphasis was very much on establishing an immediate proximity to the main target audiences, who were represented here as comprehensively as possible. High-impact figures and clear and succinct explanations were provided with regards to the many development opportunities that Suez Environnement was able to offer. Likewise, the agency’s developers also worked on another more formal leaflet containing less imagery and based primarily on information relating to the various career opportunities available at Suez. Both understated and punchy colours were used, along with carefully chosen figures and keywords, to ensure that the key message was immediately clear.
Suez Environnement
With regards to the Suez Environnement stand used at various student exhibition, meanwhile, the final face, considered to be the most expressive, was featured on a display board designed to attract the attention of passing visitors. Could the young woman with the large eyes be seeking to leave future graduates spellbound? Whatever the case may be, her aim was certainly to grab their attention and to get them asking questions that the much calmer Suez Environment employees were only too pleased to answer!
The added bonus
Following this collaboration, Suez Environnement asked us to create a T-shirt.
We advised them not to go for a simple ‘logo’ T-shirt but to think about the message they wanted to convey and most importantly
ensure that it wouldn’t get consigned to the back of the wardrobe and only get dragged out when there was painting or DIY to be done!
We wanted to achieve an off-beat urban feel, a cool T-shirt that would mean that Suez Environnement was always synonymous with innovation and
originality. The idea was to create a fashionable urban custom piece that was very wearable but at the same time very discretely incorporated the group’s emblem.
We were also keen not to view young people as walking billboards and to observe the relevant ethical and ecological criteria when it came to manufacturing the garments.
These funny, colourful T-shirts were then distributed at various student exhibitions and the students themselves were pleasantly surprised.
